Being Spammed By Someone – Put A Stop To It Now!
There is a great deal of spamming happening on the Internet. You know what happens; you open up your inbox only to find that there are a half dozen messages from individuals that you don’t know, and whom claim to know you, and they would like to inform you that you are the winner of some unclaimed prize. Well, it must be your lucky day right? A lot of people do believe this, and the scams are pretty crafty to lure you in.
One of the most notable scams in recent times has been the Paypal message. You would get a message from a representative from Paypal and be informed that your account has been compromised and that you have to reset your password through the link that they send you. Well if were to go ahead and click on the link in that message chances are your information would be stolen and your bank account would be cleaned out! Paypal usually never sends out any emails, and if they do they wouldn’t request their members to reset their account information through a link.
So what can you do to avoid these things from happening in the future? Well don’t click on links unless you’re positive that you know who the sender is. Always make it a practice to type the website in manually in the address bar (yes it is a pain but it will keep you safe). Another thing that you can do is conduct a reverse email finder search to find out the true identity of the individual who is emailing you. If you suspect foul play and you find out who the person is then you should forward this information on to the proper authorities.
You can never be too safe in today’s technological advanced age. Yes, computers do make life easier to conduct business and to communicate with others. But, on the other hand they do make it very easy for identity fraud criminals to obtain your information if your not careful. Use caution whenever entering any personal information and do a quick google search if you believe that there may be a scam in the works.
